Sautéed Kale with Garlic

Elias' favorite vegetable is kale and his favorite way to make it is sautéed with garlic. This recipe is so fast, easy and yummy, it shouldn't be reserved for the holiday.

Serves 6-8 or 1 Elias!

You'll need:

  • 1 pound of dark green kale
  • 1-2 cloves garlic –finely chopped
  • 3 tablespoons of olive oil
  • A little help from an adult or older sibling

Equipment:

  • A skillet with a lid
  • A wooden spoon
  • Oven mitts
  • A plate
  • Paper towels
  1. Wash the kale and leave it wet. Pull off the stems and tear into bite sized pieces.
  2. Heat the olive oil in the skillet and sauté the garlic. Inhale that marvelous smell!
  3. Stir in still wet kale.  Cover the skillet and cook for 5-10 minutes stirring occasionally, until leaves tender but still bright green.
  4. Serve immediately.
