Sarah Kornfield,
The 2005 American Honey Queen
Sarah comes from Texas and goes to college in Illinois. She started
keeping bees when she was in high school. She was looking for
an interesting hobby and found she really loved beekeeping.
When Sarah was nominated to be considered for the 2005 American
Honey Queen, she was tested about her knowledge of honey and bees.
She also had to show that she was comfortable talking to large
groups. All in all, she had to demonstrate that she would be an
excellent representative of the American Beekeeping Federation.
As the American Honey Queen, Sarah's job is to educate the public
on honey as a healthy sweetener. She also lets her audience know
just how dependent we are on bees for everything we eat.
Sarah travels around the United States teaching people about
bees and honey. She is available for visits to schools. She can
deliver talks specially designed for each grade from Kindergarten
to high school. Plus she's also great at speaking to audiences
of adults.
