Magic Banana Print E-mail

Little yellow banana,
Wouldn't it be nice
If we opened you up and
You were already sliced?

{Makes 1 magic banana}

You'll need:

  • 1 banana
  • A little adult help

  • A long sewing needle
  • A spool of thread
  1. Thread the needle with a long piece of thread and double it.
  2. Bananas have ridges. Insert the needle into one ridge about 1 1/2 inches from the end. Slide the needle through to the next ridge. Pull the needle out.
  3. Insert the needle back into the hole it just came out of. Slide it through to the next ridge.
  4. Keep going until you've gone completely around and have come out of the first hole you punctured. What you've done, under the skin, is make a lasso around the banana.
  5. Holding one side of the thread firmly, pull the other side firmly. Under the skin the thread will slice through the banana.
  6. Start the next set of holes about 1 inch lower. Repeat the puncturing and threading until you've sliced the banana into at least 6 pieces.
  7. When you get to school, make sure to tell you're friends you have a magic banana and have them watch as you peel it. They'll be amazed that the banana comes already sliced!
