The heart of palm is the tender new leaves that sprout at the top of
the tree. We always wonder about food items like this. Someone must
have been awful hungry to climb way up to the top of the tree.
The
hearts of palm that come in the can are packed in brine so they are a
little salty, a little sweet and have a wonderful creamy, crunchy
texture.
