TROUBLE SEEING OUR VIDEO?

Mother's Day is day set aside to let mom, step-mom, grandma or any one you want to let know how much you appreciate their love and guidance.

Barilla's executive chef Lorenzo Boni shows Liv and Belle a quick and easy recipe that will make Mom feel really special.

We chose Barilla Tortellini because they have no preservatives and their taste is authentically Italian.

{Makes 4-6 servings}

You'll need:

  • 1 1/2 tablespoons of extra virgin olive oil
  • 1 small onion - finely diced
  • 1 orange sweet pepper - diced
  • 1 yellow sweet pepper - diced
  • 1 red sweet pepper - diced
  • 1 package of Barilla Three-Cheese Tortellini
  • Chunk Romano cheese
  • Salt and pepper
  • A little adult help

Equipment:

  • A large pasta or stock pot
  • A colander
  • A large fry pan
  • A wooden spoon
  • A cheese grater
  • Individual serving plates
      1. Fill the pasta pot with water and set it to boil.
      2. When the water comes to a boil, add the package of Barilla Tortellini. Give the pot a stir.
      3. Set a timer according to the directions on the side of the package.
      4. While the tortellini are cooking, ask Dad to chop the onions and peppers.
      5. Sauté the onions in the olive oil until the are slightly brown.
      6. Add the colored peppers and sauté until slightly soft.
      7. When the tortellini are cooked, ask Dad for help to drain them. After draining, pour the hot tortellini directly into the fry pan.

      9. Transfer the tortellini to your serving plates, grate some Romano cheese on top and you're done!
