{Makes 4-6 servings}

You'll need:

  • 1 quart of vanilla ice cream
  • 1/4 cup of Barilla balsamic vinegar
  • 1 pint of fresh strawberries - sliced
  • A little adult help

Equipment:

  • A small sauce pan - preferably with a spout
  • Individual serving bowls
  • An ice cream scoop
  • A sharp knife
  • A cutting board
      1. Pour the balsamic vinegar into a small sauce pan. "Reduce" it over medium-low heat until it is the consistency of thin chocolate syrup.
      2. Rinse the strawberries under running water.
      3. Ask Dad or whoever's helping you to please slice the strawberries.
      4. Scoop the ice cream into the bowls.
      5. Sprinkle the strawberry slices on top.
      6. Drizzle about 1/2 teaspoon of balsamic vinegar over each dessert.
      7. Serve! Mom will be so impressed by your gourmet dessert.
