A Coupon Book for Mom Print E-mail
TROUBLE SEEING OUR VIDEO?

Moms do an awful lot for their children. They wash the clothes, cook the meals, drive, shop, help with homework, etc. Watch mom on Monday and see how many things she does to help you.

Here's a chance to show her that you notice all those things and that you thank her for them.

Here's a coupon book you can make. Each coupon is for something you can do that will help mom throughout the year: maybe it's washing dishes, maybe it's sorting socks, maybe it a big hug.

{Makes 1 coupon book}

You'll need:

  • 1 sheet of white paper
  • 1 sheet of construction paper
  • A ruler
  • Scissors
  • Pens, colored pencils or crayons
  • A stapler
  • A little adult help

      1. Make a mark every 2 1/2 inches along the left and right sides of the white paper.
      2. Use the ruler to mark all the way across.
      3. Cut along the lines. You'll have four 2 1/2 by 8 1/2 inch strips of paper.
      4. Cut the same size strip from the colored paper.
      5. Pile the white paper strips on top of the color paper strip and fold everything in half.
      6. Ask Dad to staple the book along the fold.
      7. Each of the white pages is a coupon. Decide what you'd like each coupon to be worth and write it on the coupon.
      8. Decorate the colored cover and there you have it: a coupon book that mom will really appreciate.
