Get creative! Not only can you twist these pretzels into your initials or a heart-shape but you can sprinkle different spices on the outside.

Try a cinnamon pretzel or an exotic cardamon pretzel. Parmesan cheese, toasted onion or bacon bits sprinkled on top and pressed into the dough would be tasty as well.

Pretzel initials make a great party favor. Put the person's initials down on their plate as an edible place card.

{Makes 4-6 big pretzels}

You'll need:

  • 1 tube of refrigerated bread dough
  • Kosher or sea salt - big grains
  • Your choice of toppings
  • Very little adult help

Equipment:

  • A cookie sheet
  • A ridged spatula for lifting
  • Aluminum foil
  • Oven mitts!!
      1. Heat the oven on to 350 F.
      2. Put a piece of foil down on your cookie sheet.
      3. Open the tube by smacking it on the edge of the counter. This is Belle's favorite part!
      4. Pull the dough out and break off a piece. Shape it into a 1/2 inch roll then twist and turn it into whatever shape you want.
      5. Sprinkle on your topping .
      6. Pop into the oven for about 10 minutes and you're done!
