Carrot Jicama Shots Print E-mail

These shots won't hurt at all and they are full of vitamins and other healthy things.

We've seen mini-appetizers like these in fancy restaurants and we thought we'd see if we could make some. We chose jicama and carrots but other crispy vegetables such as kohlrabi, cucumbers, zucchini, and celery will work just as well. You can organize the vegetables by color or mix them up.

{Makes 6 shots}

You'll need:

  • 3 large carrots
  • 1 medium jicama
  • Ranch salad dressing (or your favorite)
  • A little adult help


  • A cutting board
  • A sharp knife
  • A vegetable peeler
  • 6 shot glasses
  1. Peel the carrots and jicama. Cut them into sticks about 1/2 inch thick. Jicama can be quite hard. So if you need help, don't be afraid to ask an adult.
  2. Pour about 1/2 inch of salad dressing into the bottom of the shot glasses.
  3. Arrange the veggie sticks in the glasses and serve. So easy yet so elegant!
