TROUBLE SEEING OUR VIDEO?

This Zesty Dressing turns a simple green salad into something special. Get pre-washed greens and you can throw a tasty salad together in minutes. The recipe was given to us by our friend Montrell at Traugher Middle School.

Liv and Belle were invited to do a cooking demo and book signing at Traughber and the students there put together the "Taste of Traughber Cookbook" as a gift. We chose 5 recipes that made up a complete meal. But there are lots and lots more! Our thanks to Montrell, all the other students who participated and to Ms. Loretta Burke their teacher who organized the event. Great job!

{Makes 6-8 servings of dressing}

You'll need:

  • 3/4 cup salad oil
  • 1/4 cup vinegar
  • 2 tablespoons sugar
  • 1 teaspoon grated onion
  • 1 1/2 teaspoons Worcestershire sauce
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon chili powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon garlic
  • 1 hard-cooked egg - finely chopped

Equipment:

  • Measuring cups and spoons
  • A screw-top jar
  1. In a screw-top jar combine all ingredients except the hard-cooked egg. Cover and chill.
  2. Shake again before serving.
  3. Stir in the chopped egg. Makes about 1 cup of dressing.
  4. Pour sparingly over your salad. Don't drench your greens.
