Chili and Honey Chicken Wings Print E-mail

These chili honey chicken wings from Le Titi de Paris Restaurant are both sweet and tangy. They make a great appetizer or a light meal when paired with a mixed green salad. They are also easy for beginners in the kitchen.

We thank our celebrity chefs, Susan and Michael Maddox, for the opportunity to come to their cooking class and not only watch but get to taste these yummy treats.

{Makes 8 servings}

You'll need:

  • 2 pounds of chicken wings
  • 1 tablespoon of honey
  • 1 tablespoon of chili powder
  • 1 lime
  • 1 teaspoon of salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • Vegetable oil
  • A little adult help


  • measuring cups and spoons
  • A citrus zester
  • A large bowl
  • Aluminum foil
  • A shallow, 15 x 10 inch baking pan
  • A metal rack to fit in the pan
  • Metal tongs
  • Oven mitts
  1. Put oven rack in upper third of oven and preheat oven to 425 degrees F.
  2. Zest the lime then squeeze out the juice and set aside.
  3. Line bottom of the baking pan with foil.
  4. Oil the metal rack and place it in the bottom of the pan.
  5. Stir together chili powder, honey, lime juice, lime zest, salt and pepper in a large bowl, then add the chicken and turn to coat completely.
  6. Transfer chicken to rack, arranging in a single layer.
  7. Place in oven and bake, turning over once, until cooked through, 30-35 minutes.
  8. After the wings have been placed on a serving plate, you can thicken the juice at the bottom of the roasting pan for a sauce.
