2 quarts of fresh strawberries or other fresh berries
1/3 cup of sugar
1-3 tablespoons of water
Equipment:
Measuring spoons
Food processor or blender
A scoop or ladle
Spatula
Plastic mold for ice pops
Or small paper cups and wooden craft sticks
Wash the strawberries and put them in the food processor.
Add the sugar.
Process the berries until they are slushy. You may need to
add a little water. Add one tablespoon of water, then see if
the berries are turned to slush. There can be some big pieces
but if they are over 1/2 inch big, they might not fit into the
molds. If the berries are still in big hunks, add a little more
water.
Scoop the strawberry slush into the molds.
Put the molds into the freezer for at least one hour.
When the slush has frozen through, run a little warm water
on the outside of the mold to help loosen the pop so it will
slide out easily. If you're using paper cups, you can
just tear the paper off.
