Livvy used her hands to squeeze the ripe mango from the pit but a
lot of the tasty fruit wound up on the counter and even on the floor.
So you might want to give mom or whoever keeps the floor clean a break and cut the flesh away from the pit.
{Makes 4-6 servings}
You'll need:
1 ripe mango
1/2 cup of non-fat yogurt
1/4 of mango juice - optional
1/2 of a lime
A lot of adult help
Equipment:
Measuring cups
A sharp knife
A cutting board
A blender
Peel the mango.
The
next step is to cut the flesh away from the pit. It's hard, slippery
work so ask for adult help. The pit is long and flat. Have mom or the
adult who's helping you put the mango narrow slide down on the cutting
board and slide the knife through the flesh down and around the pit.
The last bit of flesh can be scraped off right into the blender.
Cut the mango flesh into strips and place in the blender.
Add the yogurt and mango juice.
Squeeze a little lime juice in and you're ready to rock.
Put the top on and blend until smooth. It's a real tropical treat!
